Rather hypnotic

Always was a rather favorite of mine, but i like that it almost had an Indian feel to it. I swear to got, i felt like i was being hypnotized with it, in a strange way it's calming, and suggestive, but doesn't ever lose focus :)

I enjoy it very much, and is an interesting twist, not focusing the melody as much, and making the background bass riffs the prodominent sound heard.

By the way, this song will be used in Episode 36 of Newgrounds Radio Podcast (Due to come out 3/8/09)

Well thank you vary much for your reviw good sir I hope to make more song to entrance your vary soul lol and yeah sure go ahead use my song if you like :)

Very Likable

I enjoy the "guitar like riffs" around 1:40

At a core level, it had some interesting piano melodies that were simple, but that simplicity helped with thier effectiveness.

Thanks! Yea, this song is pretty simple.
And i'll check out that podcast!

Interesting Techniques here...

I do admit you use interesting effects, and your melodies are interesting. I think what would actually make this song better, would be to slow it down, and give it a "hardstyle feel". I think slowing it down a bit would actually make it more dancable, and would give greater emphisis on the effects, prolonging them, and making them more profound.

I used a program used VirtualDJ to listen to it (Usually used for ACTUAL DJ'ing, but i find it usefull to tweak a song on the fly as well)

I put your song at 82.1 BPM (It was orginally at 92.5) in essence.. i played it ABOUT *Does math* 88.7% speed.. It had a much better sound, and it also gave it the length you were needing.

This is just my suggestion, but you are free to alter this song as you wish

That's awesome about being used in the radio and I'll definitely check it out. Ill try slowing it down in FL.
Thanks again!

Serves it's purpose

While I don't really think that i could take this seriously as an actual music piece, it is very well done, and would provide an excellent BGM in a variety of flash games, preferably something sci-fi, or shooter themed.

I wouldn't really consider this a serious music piece either, but I had fun with it :)

Anyway, its cool to see that it's going to be on your podcast, I will be sure to listen.
Thanks for the review.

Interesting acoustial playing

I did like the simple acustical playing, but it seems the effects were just thrown in. I did get the feeling of fairly dark, but for some reason the whole thing didn't click with me.

I do get carried away with the effects sometimes haha, i dont have an expensive program to use for my recordings, so i try to make do with what i can.

Wow, my music on Podcast!
Thank you, that sounds great.

I will most def. check it out.

Peace.

This is ceartainly.. unique..

It seems to trancend many types of music, from goth, to rock to video game, to dance, to industrial... and somehow, this mishmash of elements, is held together.

It truely is amazing piece of work, and I will make sure to say good things about this song on NG Radio!

Takes me back...

Man, this just screams classic fighting games on the Nintendo. For some reason, i keep getting reminded of an old WWF fighting game on the genesis. I have no idea why, but i like the variety, and you instead of following an 8-bit style like most people who produce old-style video game music, it seems you went with 16-Bit, which in my opinon was the true era of video game music.

If interested, i will most likely say good things about this song this Sunday.

I'll be busy on sunday but i'll check it out post-broadcast.

Thanks for the review

Basshunter would be proud..

One complaint i have.. is at the first "interlude" i didn't like the "Wanted..." effects in the background.. having two vocal tracks at the same time is very difficult to pull off, and i feel they kind of bumped into each other.

As a fan of BassHunter, i can say this is fairly good, and seems fairly professional, and i enjoy this remix just as much.

A tad short, but i think some would say that keeps it from dragging on too long.

I look foward to playing this on Sunday, and having it heard by the fanbase ;)

Close to perfection...

I'm the Co-DJ at Newgrounds radio, and as you can guess, i scan a LOT of music, trying to find the best..

I have to applaude your technical skills. It sounds very professional, and the song does very well at tempo transitions. Overall, it is a very likeable, dancable, and alll out fun song.

My only complaint, and the reason I didn't give this one a perfect 10, is because there are many songs that use these elements (constant baseline, repeated classical music elements, or putting simple effects through a Flanger).

It often ends up making an "epic" sounding song, which is almost always a crowd favorite. However, since there ARE a lot of songs that use these elements, i don't think it's unreasonable to say that some of your creativity is stiffled, and perhaps you should have been a bit more "daring"

(also, check to see what went wrong at 2:45-2:50.. sounds like it cut out..)

Regardless, i don't even put MOST of the songs in my show on my Ipod, but THIS one is going on..

Hey, thanks for the review, Gorillaz. We'd love to have our song on your podcast so we'll definitely try and tune in if we can. I also must ask you something. Are you still planning on playing our other song, "The Heist," on your podcast still? We sent you a PM about an interview and such but we never got a response back.

In terms of being more daring, I can definitely understand. If you get the time, check out our newest submission, "No More Words." It would definitely be more in the direction of daring. While it's still a mix of orchestral and electronic elements (although some might not notice that right away), it's our first track we laid vocals on. We're proud of it but could definitely use some comments on it. So check that out if you get a chance!

Also, between 2:45 and 2:50, I didn't hear anything. I check both on NGs and on my original source file and I heard nothing. It might have been the NGs player as that sometimes drops out or you hear a little blip in the song. If you hear it again, let us know, but we've got nothing right now.

Thanks again! We'll definitely be checking out the podcast this weekend!

Interesting, but watch out for U.M.G.

I am not a huge fan of this song in the first place, but you seem to have implimented an "old-school" feel to the song that suprisingly fits it well.

LIke i mentioned, i DO hope you have gotten the artist's permission to use this, or that you have done your homework, because there ARE rules about using an other artists work. I would hate to see this thing get ripped off the portal because of that, because it has a rather unique feel.
