Close to perfection...

I'm the Co-DJ at Newgrounds radio, and as you can guess, i scan a LOT of music, trying to find the best..

I have to applaude your technical skills. It sounds very professional, and the song does very well at tempo transitions. Overall, it is a very likeable, dancable, and alll out fun song.

My only complaint, and the reason I didn't give this one a perfect 10, is because there are many songs that use these elements (constant baseline, repeated classical music elements, or putting simple effects through a Flanger).

It often ends up making an "epic" sounding song, which is almost always a crowd favorite. However, since there ARE a lot of songs that use these elements, i don't think it's unreasonable to say that some of your creativity is stiffled, and perhaps you should have been a bit more "daring"

(also, check to see what went wrong at 2:45-2:50.. sounds like it cut out..)

Regardless, i don't even put MOST of the songs in my show on my Ipod, but THIS one is going on..

By the way, this song will be used in Episode 35 of Newgrounds Radio Podcast

Hey, thanks for the review, Gorillaz. We'd love to have our song on your podcast so we'll definitely try and tune in if we can. I also must ask you something. Are you still planning on playing our other song, "The Heist," on your podcast still? We sent you a PM about an interview and such but we never got a response back.

In terms of being more daring, I can definitely understand. If you get the time, check out our newest submission, "No More Words." It would definitely be more in the direction of daring. While it's still a mix of orchestral and electronic elements (although some might not notice that right away), it's our first track we laid vocals on. We're proud of it but could definitely use some comments on it. So check that out if you get a chance!

Also, between 2:45 and 2:50, I didn't hear anything. I check both on NGs and on my original source file and I heard nothing. It might have been the NGs player as that sometimes drops out or you hear a little blip in the song. If you hear it again, let us know, but we've got nothing right now.

Thanks again! We'll definitely be checking out the podcast this weekend!

Interesting, but watch out for U.M.G.

I am not a huge fan of this song in the first place, but you seem to have implimented an "old-school" feel to the song that suprisingly fits it well.

LIke i mentioned, i DO hope you have gotten the artist's permission to use this, or that you have done your homework, because there ARE rules about using an other artists work. I would hate to see this thing get ripped off the portal because of that, because it has a rather unique feel.

Oh i look forward to the podcast. I will definetly tune in... ; )

This one's going on the old Ipod ;)

If you look at my past reviews, you'll see that it's RARE that i give out a 10 on ANYTHING. However, i feel this is extremely professional sounding work, and would be perfect in one of the action-packed fighting flashes that you see SO much of. I would love to see someone like MindChamber make something of this.

While i'm here, i would like to PERSONALLY tell you that this will be used on the 35 episode of Newgrounds Radio. (Not this weekend, but NEXT weekend)

I would also like to offer you a chance to do an interview. All i would want to know is a few basic things, and it would be a great chance to hopefully make yourself to our small, but fastly growing community. (only about 60 listeners right now)

As a person who listens to LOTS of music on the Newgrounds Portal, you're right up there with the best of the best.

(Generic "Footer" follows :D )

Thanks for the review! All your comments are well appreciated and it'd be nice to see it featured in an awesome flash movie. As for the podcast, we're excited to have you play our song on it! It definitely couldn't hurt to get some more exposure. Also, would you mind doing a plug of some sort (if you don't already) in order to link people back to our page here on Newgrounds?

As for the interview, we'd definitely be up for that. I'm not sure how you traditionally conduct these but if you want, feel free to PM some questions and we'll definitely answer them. If that's not how you're doing interviews, just PM us the details and we'll definitely talk.

Thanks so much for the review, we're glad that you liked the song!

was ABOUT to stop music hunting, but had to add..

THis one is very beautifully crafted, and i am VERY happy that you weren't afraid to deviate from the song, and take it in a new directions, sometimes breaking away into a "Piano solo" truely shows that you can make effects that can BLEND with the music, not just build on it's inital seccess

(forgive my spelling it's 4 AM :) )

Anyhow, i'm sure you'll get some good publicity when i publish this in about a week or so ;) By the way, make sure to check out the SAME show i'm going to post your song on, as there is a submission that goes through all the songs from the first Sonic the Hedgehog game in order, and is brilliant.

Anyway, I look foward to hearing from you, and hopefully you take a stop by newgroundsradio.com

Now to slap on the spiel that i always put :D

Very High Quality

It's amazing how much this resembles a theme that would be traditionally found in a turn based RPG game, or possibly in a celebration after a large battle. It oozes a "we fought and won" theme to it.

woah, really? YAY! I'm... famous... LOL Cool, thanks!

Many remixes depend on the base song for quality..

However this song, had very many good tencho elements, and you threw in JUST the right about of adjusting to the original to make it sound orginal, but still unique in it's own way.

Feels right at home in a NOIR film

Has a cool jazz out feel, and instantly think old 1950's Detective movies, when i hear this. Has a very calming feel, and is making me feel rather sneaky.

However, i don't like the samples you used in the first 20 seconds or so in the song.. Seem a bit out of place (you used rather natural elements for the rest of the song, but used harsh elements in the begining)

I'll subscribe to your station. Haven't been on in a while I guess I should check back more lol.

Cannot help but think 8-bit side scrolling fighter

I love the general themes of "Urban slums" that seems to radiate from this song. I would probably suggest that someone USE this music as background music for a video game, or possibly even for a turtorial of some sort. It could loop very well, if you cut off the "dead air" at the end and a bit at the begining

I look foward to adding this song to my show :)

Cool Goz. I'll check it out. Taking out the air is a good idea.

Other than some breakup on the mic, pretty good

I would work seriously on removing the noise from your mic (can hear your breaths on the mic, and some breakup)

However, you do have a fairly good voice, and as the co-DJ of Newgrounds Radio, i hope i can help you get some exposure.

O.O I really don't know what to say.

Well, first off thank you for the compliment

Second off, I know (refering to the breath on the mic) I'm such an amature recorder -_-)

And uh...third....THANK YOU! I'm so happy.....for the constructive critisim and the podcast.

Not a bad little song, sounds like BG music

I like some of the basic elements, as well, as a few of the sampling effects, but sadly don't feel like i could really dance to it. I think your song would be better suited as a plaformer, or shooter flash game than a racing game.
